]\\/[EGADET]-[ can you confirm if some of these games(AvP, CoD4, Civ5, F1 2010) are still getting no benefit going from dual to quad crossfire with the new drivers: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/P...990_CrossFire/
and if UT3 & WoW gets only a couple fps benefit.

Yeesh. If you value quiet, go buy something and leave it on stock clocks or give it a tiny bump. If you want to push your card to the limit of it's OC potential then you're either going to have to ditch the stock cooler, or put up with some fan noise. And that goes for EVERY CARD.
That sounds like the same kind of logic as complaining about the cost of 4 3GB 580s to 2 6990s. As if saving a mere $600 when you've already spent $1400+monitors is going to matter. While the 580s require a lot more CPU, the performance difference is definitely worth it, not to mention being able to use AA in games...

]\\/[EGADET]-[, do you have any of the other games? I know Shift 2 still doesn't have crossfire support. CoD4, Civ5, F1 2010, UT3, WoW?

The sound of my gtx 480 was unbearable thus I HAD to get an aftermarket cooler. It comes to a point when enough is enough. Performance be damned

Btw, do the AMD drivers still have that annoying overclock bug where it settles at 400mhz or something when idle? My 5870s and 5970s never downclocked when overclocked while idle. It just settled at 500mhz or something like that. That was one of the main reasons I got fermi

I think everyone is aware of that genius. The 580s are a measuring stick since they're the top of the line single gpu. Would you prefer they said "****s all over 560 sli"?

That is nice for quad 580s with physx on. When I had tri 580s these were my results.

990x @ 4.7 tri 580 GTX's @ 850/1700/4200 Physx Off = P52028

990x @ 4.7 tri 580 gtx's @ 850/1700/4200 Physx On = P61647

61647-52028 = 9619 Physx added

9619 / 3 = 3206

3206 * 4 = 12824

72279 - 12824 = P59455 is more likely what his score without physx is

when you post other peoples scores you dont know where they came from or even if they are right.

All those games are pretty simple to run. Either side can produce well over 100 fps for those games and they arn't even worth testing.

This is with AA set to 16xEQ through the drivers. These cards can enable massive AA without much performance hit.

I love that you actually have/had owned this sort of hardware that always come up in these pissing matches.

It's nice to see some personal benches and not some guy with a mid range gpu from 3 generations ago spewing nonsense from the far reaches of the internet.
