Pfft, my current cards can max out BC2, so I won't worry about BF3. If BF3 drops my cards to below 100fps, then I might start to worry, but when I get 170fps+ via fraps in-game I have no worries. Now BD is in my future, but that is for a different thread....

They better make it off the charts, I can comfortably MAX BC2 at 1080p

When did BC2 come out, and what cards were on top then?

I'll have a BD by then, for if I haved to CF to MAX BF3

The 6950 2GB isn't even much more money than a 68xx

I almost got a 6850, then would CF it

Real glad I pulled off getting the 6950 instead, now I want to CF it, but I will need bigger PSU, and a BD chip in my current MB 1st

Being a fanboy won't get you anywhere in computers, AFAIK, Nvidia pwns ATI in folding and graphics related tasks. Nvidia and Intel are PERFECTLY affordable.
Asking a question about how a game runs when its not even releases yet? How smart?
Get a 2500K, get a 580. Be happy.

Re-Reading a thread and realising you missed the point by a mile? How smart?

Thanks for the bump.

As for that 580...how about you float me the difference and I'll take it!

This has to be one of the only PC/gaming/hardware advice boards I know of that is so full of garbage. And by garbage I mean petty arguments about computers, seriously, arguing about what you want others to buy? Just give advice and give polite replies, tough talk through a screen is really not cool.

Lol at fanboys, if you sat on my rig, then sat on another with SLI 6950's i bet you could NOT tell the difference, even tho some will still say they can, I own both.

After running Crysis 2 at a solid 50FPS I don't see why Battlefield 3 won't do the same unless they **** up really bad.

Bad Company 2 was a mess at launch but they managed to fix it 6 months later with a lot of patching. I hope history does not repeat itself.

And I agree, most of the advice on these boards is not solid. A GTX 580 is never a great value at $500...Great value would be a $300 GTX 570 or a $250 GTX 560.
