So I OC'd my northbridge...

And I actually got a improvement! I oc'd the NB to 2.5Ghz at 1.8v and the cpu to 2.8Ghz.

So before I did this my CPU was at 2.7Ghz and my NB was at 1.8Ghz at 1.7v.
And with the above settings I got the following preformance in BC2:
Low of 15 fps and a max of 65 fps

After the OC I got the following results:
Low of 37 fps and a max of 75 fps

I'm glad about the changes. Now I can actually play without CONSTANT fps drops biggrin.gif

Just thought I let you guys know smile.gif

Question is will it have a obvious impact on performance?

uh, I have the exact board and a x3 (unlocked) like you.

I run 2600 NB @ 1.4v (That's more than I needed. For a buffer) and I think 1.5 is generally considered the most you should do on stock...

You can probably unlock your 4th core for a big boost in fps (in BFBC2) if it's stable, or OC the 3 cores more. Since you're already over 1.4v on CPU you should be able to do 3.3*4 or 3.5*3 without even changing voltage.

OC'ing his ram would yield negligible fps results

What is the voltage of your CPU? I tried unlocking and I just bsod the second it load windows. I'm assuming I have to increase my voltage in order to stabilize it or do I need to alter my ram speed to stabilize it too?

I run 3.5ghz @ 1.48v
I can run 3.35 ghz @ ~1.4v
I can do ~3.5 or 3.6ghz x3 at ~1.4v

If you can't boot windows @ 1.4v with everything stock (except 4th core unlocked) then you have a true x3 with a bad core.

But seriously, 1.8v is waaaaaaaaay too much NB. Try lowering to 1.4v NB and see if you can still boot and pass Prime95 blend.

Also, I assume you are manually setting your RAM? every time you alter the FSB speed your RAM speed is changing too.
