Why wont my CPU fold right !?! - Page 5

If you find some way to run native Windows, you have enough cores to run -bigadv on it. You should get close to 20k or so per day, though I'm not entirely familiar with numbers on dual socket Core systems.

Worth a try. Native Windows will let it run better either way.

I'm not a full Mac guy so I wouldn't know how to properly dual boot the system.

Found the TFP stats:

Well, neither am I, but I understand Boot Camp is pretty simple.

Also, this thread has been the most hijacked.

So bootcamp was included in Snow Leopard..... I somehow managed to not notice it on the Mac lol! Oh well, I'll tackle it after the competition. At least then I could possibly get that 8800GT folding on it as well.

I'm trying setting cores to 6 instead of 7 and seeing if I can get a little higher on the CPU.

There's no use in that, you've got the free cycles. Anything less than 7 and it'll become a detriment.

this is lame, I have to same problem. I could install my 8800gtx and get more PPD than my i7 920

why is it so hard to configure to fold on multiple cores? you think someone would have gotten this to work by now...

I refuse to use cmd prompt to get folding to work, too much of an inconvenience
post #50 of 54
Lol, such an inconvenience to type a couple of words once and then just turn it on every time.

You don't actually use cmd to launch it. It's an executable, you click it and it starts.
