I'm actually quite new to the entire smartphone scene (Hence the entry-level smartphone:P)

I've only just "rooted" my phone, but as for experimenting with roms, i've no idea how to do that, or go about it.

I'm getting the feeling the two program/emulators will work fine, but i have the idiots at the marketplace telling me it won't.

This was precisely what kept me from buying a smartphone - i didn't want anyone telling me what i can and can't use tongue.gif

Dont worry I got a budget phone too, Virgin Mobile Optimus V, $20 a month for 300 min and unlimited data. Thats all I really need. Start here and read about the process before attempting it.

Ok this is weird, as i'm POSITIVE i've done EVERYTHING correctly.

So i've installed Xrecovery and it works fine (Can access it perfectly) and i placed a Update.zip in the SDCard directory

The Update.zip Contains this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059361

Anyway, i make xrecovery extract it and it does so fine, giving me the "Copying files...installation complete" deal. i then format the "Data"under partition tools and then reboot, only to find that i'm still operating the same old system/phone -- NOTHING has a changed!!!! Not a thing!

what the hell is going on!?

I even double checked in Xrecovery to see what i could find, and i also make sure the /System is UNMOUNTED prior to installing Update.zip.

This is driving me mad, it really is. Can anyone help me? I'm totally stumped, no idea why this has messed up. Update.zip consists of 2 folders, system and META-INF, both of which should extract and replace any necessary data.

SNESoid is what I've been using for the past year and it works perfectly fine on my Droid X Gingerbread, Droid X Froyo, Droid Gingerbread, Droid Froyo, Droid Eclair.
