Because from what I read, I could use the 285 as a dedicated phsyx card.

Or i guess I can always ebay my current gpu for $100 or so.
In addition to what have been said above concerning keeping or selling the GTX285, let me add one more comment:

Your motherboard Gigabyte EX58-UD3R's two PCIex16 slots are placed with only 1 slot between. So, when the GTX580 and the GTX285 are both installed, there will not be an empty slot in between them. This means, your main (upper) card GTX580 will run hotter. You will not experience serious issues like BSOD but it just will not be as cool.
This is one more factor for you to take into consideration.

One more advice: I suspect it has been quite a while since you install a graphics card and perhaps a while since you do a complete cleaning of your case interior. I think this is a good time for you to clean up all the dusts inside when you open the side panel.

Nice choice, I upgraded from a GTX 295, and just one GTX 580 made that much of a difference... I liked the card so much I got two...
Matters on your gaming... to give you an example, the GTX 580 does games in direct x 11 better than my gtx 295 did in Direct X 10. (I used the heaven benchmark for this example)...
Enjoy!!!

Ya I think I'm going to sell my 285 for $100
To a good buddy.

Also what should I clean on the inside?

I always used canned air and blew my case vent out. Pc fans and dust in the
Case with a micro fiber towel.

Can't wait to receive this card.

What benchmarks should I run? So far I took
Note off a 3dmark06 and pc mark vantage.

Can't use 3dmark 11 since i don't have dx11 yet.

Then when I get some extra cash I think i am
Going to get a SSd after summer.

Should be a good rig for having this 18 month so far

Oh you got the second one, nice. Yea these cards/coolers are pretty impressive looking. I just upgraded my motherboard to one where the first slot is a PCIe x16 instead of a PCIe x1 and upgraded to this massive CPU cooler so I have a massive awesome looking GPU sitting like 2-3mm away from a massive awesome looking CPU cooler.

You know what you could do with all that OMGPERFORMANCE? You could fold to help OCN win this Chimp Challenge we are in right now, and more importantly help find cures for diseases to help mankind as a whole. It's really easy to setup if you use Client v7 and follow this guide for your CPU and both of your GPUs, it would take less than 5 minutes to setup and I would really appreciate people with such powerful hardware to try and help cure diseases.

Thanks to you guys for suggesting the cpu and video card. ^^ I was actually looking at the Noctua NH-D14 before I decided to go with the water cooler, mainly because I pulled it off my AMD 1090T, so it was free. As for folding, I'll sign up today, I've always just been wary of heat problems if I let that run when I wasn't home. My room can get warm when I leave my comp on and the door closed.

KEep the 285 in the system then when you get the 580 start folding!
