Whats the bottle neck? also upgrade ideas.

Hi im looking into upgrading my pc but i would like to jnow what my bottle neck is first. Im running a Pentium D 805 (laugh if u want...) and a 9400GT (laugh again). in cod 5 im getting 17 fps all lowest settings! i think its my pentium d. any ways im gonna be playing mainly cod4 and 5, mabey ill get mw2 and bo. im thinking a 955 and gtx 460. will that run good on these games?

Yes your CPU is definitely the main culprit for the bottleneck. Yes a 955 OC'd and a 460 would be a good combo and should see huge gains for the games you are playing at your resolution.

If you can get a monitor that is at least 1650X1080 you can run almost all games at max in that resolution.

i used to run all my games maxed with a 460 1gb at 850 with my 955 and only a couple games i couldnt max to my pleasure....metro crysis ya know very good combo though

yeah you be fine with that combo you can even go cheaper if you want. i had a phenom 820 2.8ghz quad and gtx 460 . played bc2 max settings with 4x aa no lag wat so ever min fps i was around 45ish thats when all hell was breaking loose on screen.try and find a mobo that will support bulldozer if you can for future proof your build.or wait for bulldozer next month
