Alternatives to Fraps? (Windows)

Thread Starter
OK, so I want to make a LONG (12-15 minutes) video of at least 1280x720 but I only have 133GB of space available. Fraps, if left to record at full size, will fill this up too fast. And I have a Core i7. Is there anything else out there that will record my game, and do better video compression in real time, so I can get this video made?

(Before you ask, yes, a new hard drive is on my shopping list, but it won't happen anytime soon, I'm afraid.)

I haven't used it in ages so I can't remember how much space it'll take but how about Xfire?

E: actually I remember doing a over 10 minute 1080p mirrors edge video that took about 25gb.

Well you can recode it if you can get it to fit to make it smaller. But since you don't have the space i would just go down in size when you record. I'm not sure of another one as that is all i use is fraps for mine.

If it is a source game, etc you can use this.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I have a bunch of trying-out to do, it seems.

As I said earlier, I don't want to downsize the video; the whole point is to record at 720p.

if space is your concern then maybe you could try http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/
although i'm not sure about the performance. and i've never tried it to record a fullscreen app.
