No disrespect but if you ever wanted to go full 32mg on ram or even 16mg you would need 4x4 or a 4x8? not understanding your thinking unless its purely timing ??

ripjawsx cas7 kit imo.. can reach up to 27k read and 27k write with some minor tweaks..

For overclocking, more modules/higher density is harder to OC. With 4 x 2 modules if you wanted to get great memory speeds/timings you could pull some of the sticks out & do it easier.
If you're into editing/rendering & stuff that eats a lot of memory more is good, most don't need more than 4Gb, 8Gb is almost overkill for daily tasks or gaming.
