Any TV pros? Pushed the wrong button.

Thread Starter
Yeah it sounds pretty lame, but I have a satellite direcTV box and somehow on my normal TV remote, (Not the one for the box) I pushed "Reset" which pretty much makes the TV search for channels, but it doesn't find any because I have the box. I can't click any other button on the remote except "Channel Up" which just keeps enabling the channel search. I've tried unplugging and turning off and on etc.

Any help? Thanks

Well, if the TV is only connected to the DirecTV receiver, then there won't be any other channels available but the one to receive the output from the DTV receiver. Are you trying to get local channels without the receiver, or... I'm not sure why you want the TV to search for channels.

I don't, that's the problem. I accidentally clicked Reset. Its hooked up the receiver so I know it won't find any, I'm just trying to make it stop searching for them lol. The problem is I'm hooked up through HDMI and it is a possibility I hit reset on the fuzzy cable input, regular one? So I'm not sure what to do.

There is usually an option under the menu to make it auto scan just cancel that.

Make sure you just select the right channel or input you sat is coming though.

Oh. Has pushing any other button gotten it to stop searching? Or maybe it can be interrupted by hitting the input button?

If your wish to go back using the DirectTV box, I suppose you can use the Remote Control of the TV and select its input source as that. If you have connected to the HDMI 1 of the Input, just select it. This should bring your back to the original setup and you can use the DirectTv box's remote to channel up or down.

Yeah no other key worked at all. Really really terrible design, but I scavenged through the garage and found an old-school cable and picked up a fuzzy channel and fixed it. Thank you though guys.
