Asus P8P67 PRO + 2500K CPU ratio will not change at all. - Page 2

You can also try to DISABLE all of the following advanced CPU features and see if that works out:
  • C1E-DISABLE
  • EIST-DISABLE
  • C3, C6 States-DISABLE
  • CPU Thermal Monitor-DISABLE

You might also want to disable Turbo Mode.

also when i boot the PC in the post screen it shows that the CPU speed is 3.3Ghz.. this is very confusing
The system will always show a 3.3 GHz speed because that's what the board says it's up to. SandyB is intended to be overclocked by the turbo and Windows does not see that. CPU-Z will show the live speed which will be what ever the Turbo speed is. I think that having C1 as auto will override disabling speedstep. Change all of the Cstates to enabled. Disable EIST and Speedstep and you will get max clocks all the time.

Whole bunch of relevant info here. Straight from Asus.

Don't give up on it so quickly. It takes a little research and time to get use to SB. It a different beast to overclock compared to i7. Here's a few links to help you out.
