I've built a computer in a BitFenix, the quality was amazing.

I wanted one myself, but I decided to stick to my HAF, plus, the case I used (the Survivor) was a bit small for my needs.

Just something to ponder upon, don't forget their awesome build quality.

Apparently there's some design flaws of the XL over the R3, not sure which exactly, I've only heard it in brief.

The design flaw is that in stock form, there is not enough cooling due to only one stock fan provided for intake (the stock one only moves ~ 47cfm) and due to the larger volume, it is harder to get fresh air to the CPU and GPU.

If you upgrade the front intakes to 2x140m and 1x120mm fans at ~60+ cfm (perhaps some inexpensive Yates from Petra's/Sidewinder) and you should be fine. If not you can always add the side panel fan in the moduvent system as well.

Take a look at the high quality, all aluminum Lian Li offerings as well:
