Sli 580's - Page 2

Aftermarket air cooling is a fine option for you, your HAF 932 will provide plenty of airflow, and more importantly, the space, for two triple-slot cooler equipped 580's.

If you wish to avoid the hassle of installing custom coolers on stock 580's, I would really recommend going with a 580 that is factory-equipped with one, such as the cards linked by Booty Warrior and ChicAgoHawk.
There is also the Sparkle 580 version equipped with an AXP cooler.

Personally, I would recommend a card equipped with either an AXP, (Galaxy and Sparkle) or the Zalman VF3000F (what I use on my 480's) which comes on the Zotac 580AMP.

Keep in mind that two 580's with triple-slot coolers will require you to mount the ps in the top position in your HAF 932, to give the bottom card enough room.
Here is my setup:
http://www.overclock.net/13570622-post13888.html

so you can see how the cards would fit in your case.

There is also the possibility of buying two stock 580's and installing two coolers of your choice. It's not that difficult, but either option will give you much cooler gpu temps

Not sure about the aftermarket cooling, but watercooling for decent temps is pretty much the only option.

I lawl'ed thank you. My cards have never even seen 75C with my case and custom fan profiles and that is OC'd to 900 core.

With tri SLI 570's I never went over 70C with this case and custom fan profile. If anyone you know is hitting anything over 75C with the 5 series then they are doing it wrong, period.

Not necessarily. Some people just prefer the excellent customer service and lifetime warranty.

To sum up: With the right case and setting custom fan profiles in AB you will never have any heat problems.

Edit: But yes those Galaxy's with AXP's is a damn good deal. $430 after MIR? Yes please.

Thanks guys, i know i wont be hitting 90C anyway. Im going to be using the stock coolers. I was thinking of waiting for the MSI 3GB GTX 580 lightning Xtreme.....
http://news.softpedia.com/news/MSI-s...d-200816.shtml
....but i heard that although it is a great cooler fot the card, it dumps the heat inside the case therefore warming up the other components? Can anyone clarify this? Thanks.

I apologize for even suggesting any kind of aftermarket gpu cooling to you, even though I thought you had asked about it in your original post on this thread. Looks like I totally wasted a few minutes of my time here

If I was in the market for 580's and space wasn't an issue I would SLI 2 of those Galaxy with AXP's. Crazy good deal, they probably OC like champs too.

What kind of resolution will you be running these cards at? Unless you're running a very high resolution, that extra VRAM will be going to waste.
