Mine gets here tomorrow. PITA to get hold off, nearly every single one shipped to the UK has been sold/spoken for.

The phone looks amazing. Kind of disappointed that it has a WVGA resolution though. Would have liked to see something like qHD or around that.

I can't wait to see the US variants!

Wow, congrats on becoming a mod open1your1eyes, just noticed the blue username

On the other hand, can't wait till this thing drops in the US. Sure hope they don't remove the front facing camera on any of the versions.

Everyone keeps saying it looks like an iphone ripoff...but yet...the galaxy s line up is incredible.

Also, how does the build quality suck? My galaxy s rocks....never had any issues. Whereas my old iphone 4 was littered with problems. Gps never locking, dropped calls all the time, screen unresponsive a lot...just a few...

Um tegra 2 is based off of two ARM Cortex A9 chips. So is Samsung's exynos. What happens here is that the companies like Nvidia and Samsung take the ARM chips and create a System on chip (SOC) design for phones and some tablets. An SOC is pretty much all of the internal components of a phone (like the sound card, gpu, cpu etc) is all put into a single small chip. That is what Nvidia's tegra is and that is also what Samsung's Exynos is.
But the difference between Samsung's Exynos and Tegra 2 is very small, in some cases tegra 2 wins but in other cases, Exynos trumps tegra.

Yeah from what I've heard the demand for this phone is quite ridiculous. Best of luck with it. Be sure to drop by and let us know how it is.

Originally most people were kind of surprised to see a new flagship phone come out without a QHD display, however once they realized the biggest selling point of this phone that issue quickly went away. Compared to the original Galaxy S (which had the same 800x480 res) the display on this phone is far superior. The Super AMOLED Plus display is unlike any other of it's kind. It even has 50% more subpixels than the original Galaxy S's Super AMOLED (non-Plus) display. The colors, contrast, and quality of this display far outweighs it's lack of a QHD resolution. In fact, most reviewer have said that even putting it right in front of your face you cannot make out a single pixel. This poses the question of whether a QHD resolution is even necessary if you already cannot make out the individual pixels.

Thank you. And yes, I would highly agree that unlike the original Galaxy S, it is in every carrier's best interest to not change the phone specs at all outside of adding the support for their networks. There is such high demand for this phone right now, people are desperate to know everything about release dates. The specs are a huge selling point so it would be very foolish for any carrier to want to downgrade them.

would love for this to be my next phone but it will be a while before canadian carriers get their mitts on them.
