Started F@H and have some questions

Thread Starter
So im new to this folding thing. I'm folding on my 5830 (I know it's prob not much but every small bit counts). So i have a few questions. How do i set up FahMon or HFN.net ? When I follow the tutorials on here it doesn't show up (pic). And the second question is it normal that the folding is using my cpu ? My cpu usage is around 32% and im doing nothing except folding and typing this.

When I look at the messages in FahMon it says X HD 5830 cannot be reloaded! (FAHlog.txt does not exist). Hope this helps

t6ry downloading HFM, thats better than fahmon. Use Zodacs guide on how to setup HFM. Also it should not use 30% of your cpu for GPU folding

I tried using HFM it doesn't detect either I double checked the directory and I'm using the correct one. I used the .reg thingy that should stop the cpu usage and it didn't work

The only thing that I'm capable of answering correctly is that is normal that the gpu folding uses some cpu resources. For the monitoring go here FahMon HFN.net

I am folding (I think) this is what I can see when I click display on the F@H

Edit: When I look in the C:\\Users\\*name*\\AppData\\Roaming folder I see 2 F@H folder one is named Folding@home-gpu and the other Folding@home-x86. I'm gonna try and select the -x86 one and see what it does I have no idea what is but if it works who cares ^^

Ok I think I have found the problem. when in look into the Folding@home-gpu there is no FAHlog.txt file in there. How can I fix it ?

FAHlog.txt should be saved in ProgramData, not in Program Files. These are both separate folders which are both used by f@h

Instead of using the C:\\Users\\*name*\\AppData\\Roaming\\Folding@home-gpu folder I used the C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Folding@home\\Folding@home-gpu\\ and now it detected the gpu client. The bar is still yellow though but it has to complete 3% before it can calculate the ppd (from what i read). Now my only problem is the cpu usage I'm using about 30% of the cpu and 99% of the gpu what could be causing this ?
