I'm either never home or asleep when my Bigadvs drop. I was looking at the log in HFM and noticed something odd..

Code:
[17:45:00] Completed 240000 out of 250000 steps (96%)
[18:08:17] Completed 242500 out of 250000 steps (97%)
[18:31:32] Completed 245000 out of 250000 steps (98%)
[18:54:47] Completed 247500 out of 250000 steps (99%)

[19:40:26] Updated performance fraction: 0.719242
[19:40:26] Sending work to server
It starts writing the the file and says "... Done." @ 19:18:27, then shuts down the core @ 19:38:19, almost a full 20 minutes later then goes on to upload the work unit. In that twenty minutes is it actually writing the file even though it says done or is it just sitting there?

It's possible its writing something, but I can't say for sure. I reinstalled my client so I can't check my log to see if mine is doing something similar.

Could be some sort of programming bug in the client. I would try telling your hard drives to remain spun up in windows 7 power options to make sure your hard drive isn't delaying things.

My Windows 7 Bigadv rig doesn't have this weird pause, this is happening on a dedicated Linux system. I have another one dropping on this box tomorrow morning, I'll see if it does it again.

reinstall it and use ext3 instead of the default ext4 file system when partitioning
