i think screws would look better, but could I crack the acrylic if I drill into it?

You can crack the acrylic but if you're careful you should be fine... The tape is also a perfectly good option- it'll hold just fine, but it all depends on the look you want, flush on the outside, bolted etc.

If you do end up doing screws, you might have to drill at low speeds. Drills might not go fast enough for it to be an issue, but I know you have to be very careful if dremeling acrylic/plexi because the friction heat will actually cause it to start melting.

K this might sound kinda dumb, but when I drill the wholes is there a specific drill bit I should use? or can I just use a thin one and put any screw in?

I would drill the holes and then tap them for the thread on the screw you want to use. If you're not confident in doing the drill work, I would use the tape, it'll be easy and convenient.

^^ THIS

I made a window mod my first go round with one of the old Antec cases and the acrylic cracked so easy it was pitiful.
