Go there. For 3 30" monitors, Quad SLI 3GB 580s is a very good idea.

As I said, it depends on a lot of things, it was not meant to be a blanket statement. With 3 30' monitors it may be feasible, but still, scaling is only around 3x depending on the game. So, like I said before, it's as if one isn't being used. If you have that kind of money I don't think it would really matter anyways - just get the 4th and have the peace of mind you went all out in every area.

it's only worth it if you're benching alot......for example 2 580s are enough for 100% of the games @ 1920x1200 and below.....heck even @ 2560x1600 only a select few games require more than 2 580s(Crysis/Warhead,Metro), and even then only if you're using massive amounts of AA(like 16XQ)......multi-monitor setups do require more gpu power, but they also need more vram too which alot of today's card lack......so in other words, quad sli is for super extreme and expensive setups, and even then you need vram to go along with the power......i bet 3GB tri-sli 580s would be faster at super high triple monitor resolution than 1.5GB quad-sli 580s

Look here, this is Dual vs Tri vs Quad. With Tri you are already at or around 60FPS in all the games. But jeez, get 4 if you're already spending 12k .
