i have no ideas when it comes to keyboard...
this will be the first one i will have bought in about 10 years

would be nice if it came with macro keys and back lighting would be kind of cool

please can you post some of your thoughts about a good keyboard you own/know about

Thank you very much

Ollie

A good mechanical keyboard, backlit, with macros is all a bit difficult to push into $75. The only keyboard that comes to mind is a decent regular Razer Blackwidow that will run you about ~$70. Only thing it doesn't have it back-lighting. I have the black widow ultimate which does have the back-lighting and it's worked without a hitch since I bought it awhile back.

Edit: Sorry thought you meant mechanical keyboard

Yep. Or you could get the rubber domed lycosa for $80 which does have backlighting.

Note that the Blackwidow is a mechanical keyboard with blue switches.
It WILL be loud for some people.
I personally love the sound of them, but your roommate/family/partner might hate it.

between this

and this?
That and "n" key rollover that you will need to buy an USB --> PS/2 connector to utilize anyways. So not a huge difference between the two.

Aside from the backlit the ultimate version has better quality/feel on the keycaps.

Cyborg is pretty nice if you like rubber dome keyboards, changeable backlight, seperate media keys and 12 macro buttons. Their software isn't quite as intuitive as Razor but it gets the job done.
