I changed my mind.
Saving money for a September upgrade to BD

I'll go Bulldozer if the quad competes with the i5 2500k, the hex core beats the i5 & i7, and the 8 core is "Mother of God" quality.

I'll go Intel if those requirements are not met. Oh, also price and future proofing. If the newer Bulldozers require a new motherboard then I'll go Intel since Ivy Bridge is already said to work on current motherboards.

Not a good idea, Newegg will eventually have those email exclusive sale where you can proably get a Bulldozer for like $10 off with code, if you REALLY want the new chipz, wait til the next email exclusive offer from newegg

i won't be getting the 1st gen Bulldozer, 2nd gen bulldozer will be my choice, everything still run fines with my rig atm, so i'm in no hurry to build a new one...

My Next Rig plan:

CPU: Highest end 2nd Gen Bulldozer ~$300-$500?
MOBO: Asus ROG Mobo ~$250-$400?
RAM: 8gb DDR4 mem (if release when 2nd gen is out) ~$100 (if S/D isn't inflating)
Boot Drive: ~60GB SSD ~$80-$100 (should be cheaper in 2-3 yrs)
Storage Drive: 1TB - 2TH HD ~$175
Graphic card: x2 SLI GTX670 (Kepler if 2012, GTX770 if Maxell 2013 and IF thats when 2nd bulldozer release) ~$350 x 2???
Case: Full Tower ~$150-$250 (not sure which to pick yet, there maybe something better down the road)
Power Supply: ~850w-1000w Corair Modular PSU ~$100-$150
Disk Drive: Blu-Ray r/w Drive ~$100

It'll be a $2475 Rig if were the maximum price i listed..
It'll be a $1955 Rig if were the minimum price i listed...

Kinda expenive for AMD Rig @.@ XD
Those price are speculating price and i'm just guessing
I may upgrade my monitor to 120hz 3D ready monitor, still undecided

I still keep my 890FX rig around for subzero fun I clicked maybe...

If it works with my 890 board
If the reviews/benches are good
If it likes the cold like Phenom II chips do

If FOUR of the Bulldozer cores outperform the i5 2500k I will go BD. Otherwise, It's Intel for me. Most games don't take advantage of multiple cores and the ones that do are basically limited to dual core - some quad.

True, new games will take advantage of quad core+ but by that time a new CPU will be out anyway.

And TBH I don't see you needing much more power then a SB - especially when it's overclocked 4Ghz+

I'd rather spend $10 and have a month or two of computing awesomeness than have to wait..
