[BGR] Previous-generation iPhone 3GS, iPad still outsell new Android devices, analyst - Page 4

Bit off topic

One thing about the Iphone 3GS/4 is that it works straight out of the box no need to tinker or fiddle, and for the majority of users this is great and this is why its such a successful product.

Your pretty much forced into using a custom rom with most android phones to make the experience good and to the same or better level as iOS IMO.

The only reason to even bother with a android phone is if your a big fan of tinkering , fiddling and spending all day customizing your phone.

If you don't fit the above category than a Iphone will do the job well for most people .

Dropped my 4G numerous times on asphalt, cement, wood flooring, and tile in the kitchen. No case, no glass shatter, just some scratches on the back from my keys (pocket damage lol). But I love my new Focus

my samsung captivate destroys my old iphone 3g. actually, my old Blackberry Curve also was vastly superior.

Total BS.

You can't even buy a 3GS anywhere in Canada. I tried to get one for my mother last Christmas and none of the carriers sell them anymore.

I can see the iPad, due to the price drop and the fact that Android tablets are just entering B&M stores.

Having used a 3GS for six months (work phone) and then upgrading to a 4 (my own), I can say that the resolution difference alone is worth the upgrade. I didn't think the 3GS was bad at all, and I didn't think the retina display was that much of an improvement at first...until I went back and looked at our old iPod Touch 2G, which looks terrible now in comparison. I mean, really really bad. Couple that with the improved battery life, and 3GS-to-4 is a much more significant upgrade than just having the latest and greatest (a label which aptly defined a 3G-to-3GS upgrade though, I believe.)

I don't know squat about the Captivate...but if you think a BlackBerry Curve is superior to an iPhone...any iPhone, even the original iPhone...then you're just batcrap crazy and I don't know how to talk to you.
