Question about buying my first SSD

Thread Starter
I want something pretty cheap to just increase the speed of my system a little bit. What do I need to keep on the SSD? I saw a thread earlier today which said you only need your internet browser and boot partition on the SSD for it to increase the speed of your PC noticeably, and I just wanted to clarify if this is true or not.

Most users only use it for the boot drive and then a few core programs (basically the small programs you use every day). I would personally recommend using a 64gb storage drive, that way you have plenty of space left over :-) I peresonally have an adata s599 and it works perfect, many users have the same one!

Like mentioned most people have their OS on it like me and programs that require speed. Perhaps photo editing software, a browser etc... with a 64gb Windows 7 and updates will take up around 25gb so youll want to check out some windows 7 tweaks to bring that installation size down a bit because if you fill up your SSD too much it will decrease in performance.

Usually OCZ has sales on their SSD's and right now corsair as well which are both fast and reliable SSD's
