Would you go from a 28 inch to a 23 inch? - Page 3

In this case, smaller is better. I always tell people that if the res is the same, for ex. 1920x1080, then the smaller the better, considering the fact that the pixels are smaller and therefore the overall image quality is better. My sweet size is 21.5in because it's the smallest monitor size for 1920x1080. You won't see the difference between 21.5 and 23in though. So I say yes, definitely!

Size (for same res) really depends on how far away you sit, imo.

2 Ft is where I sit. Amazon has the LG 23 inch LED IPS for $230 with free 2 day shipping and no sales tax. This would be for 50% games and 50% internet and email etc ..

Ok I ordered it from Amazon I get it Weds. I'll let everyone know how it is. It does sound nice anyway 23 inch LED IPS for $230 that's not a bad price. The Dell which I know everyone says is the best 23 inch IPS is $300 and its LCD. So I guess we'll see...

They're all LCD

The U2311H goes on sale, I got mine for $260 and then it dropped to $240. I told dell to give me the difference, they did .

Let us know how your monitor is when it gets there .

The two main backlights are LED and CCFL (Cold cathode fluorescent lamp). That is only referring to the backlight.

One thing that I am confused by in the review I saw which says its not good for games. It says it has 6MS response time and almost zero input lag. That is better than my current monitor which is excellent for games.

Input lag != response time. One has to do with the circuitry's ability to feed data to the panel, and the other is the panel responding. The measures they use are not universal and are usually gray to gray (which means bollocks).

Additionally, CCFL is much better for color reproduction. LED really hurts the color gamut.
