Yea, definitely go with a GPU upgrade, it will be a huge improvement over what you have now. 5770 would be a great option.

Because your computer is prebuilt there's a 90% chance the BIOS will not allow overclocking.

GPU memory and system memory are independent, so its okay to have a GPU with GDDR5 in a system with DDR3.

However it does look like your case only supports low-profile cards, in which case finding a good replacement GPU will be alot harder and more expensive, to the point that its not really worthwhile to upgrade.

Also the PSU that comes with it isn't designed to handle additional load and would be difficult to replace, your case is not designed for the additional heat output of an upgraded GPU, and your motherboard might not even have PCIe x16 slot to install a GPU to begin with.

So really the best thing to do would be to build your own gaming rig or buy another computer specifically designed for gaming.

Yes that is low profile, very small and can fit in any case.
Its overpriced though. Find a 512mb or 1GB version.
2gb is only for using 3 monitors and useless on videocards slower than GTX570 and HD6950

If you're on a massively tight budget, you could go with a 5670(or current equivalent).

I built a system for someone when the 5670's came out on the cheap for SC2 with a 3.1Ghz Athlon II x2, 4GB memory and a 5670 and it runs SC2 nicely at a mix of medium/high. Looks great and runs just fine. You will want an extra 2GB of memory for SC2 though, as with 2 you will get stuttering.

hey thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if you could perhaps find me a 5670 low profile (due to my case being so extremely small) I have only one PCI slot. so i might have to go w/ the 5570 . and I will be upgrading to 4GB.

I appreciate everyones feedback so much it has been such a help (;

Uhm SC2 being mostly CPU bound, wouldn't it make more sense to get a low end GPU, and change that Athlon II to a Phenom II?

Or even keep that crap GPU and go for a nice, fast dual core Phenom II.
