And that's "stable". At least for 1½ hour blending. I'm not the type of person who runs prime for 12 hours.

Extra impressive, considering you're on a whopping 16GB of RAM, with all dimms populated.

Hey XrOo,

IM going to do a full loop on my system in a few days from now awaiting the parts.
but since we have the same board and cpu can u help me with some settings on the board for overclocking, i can boot into windows with 5ghz tho. only the oc isnt stable (that is on aircooling).

i was wondering, what all the voltages aer for expect ofc dim cpu . but pll and stuff what does it do?

Sure! Multi x50. Vcore 1.42, LLC level 5. Leave the rest. Let me know if it works. That is My old config for 5.0.
You could try a lower vcore also.

Just to let you know, PLL overvoltage doesn't actually unlock higher MULTIPLIERS. It just unlocks a higher frequency wall. It's just that we usually use multipliers to reach those frequencies. If you have a CPU that can do a max of X49 with pll disabled, and will report overclocking failed or a boot loop+OC failed at 50x100, then you won't be able to do 5 ghz with PLL disabled, even with 102x49, unless the frequency wall was somewhere at like 4990 mhz, in which case, SOMETIMES having a lower BCLK will raise the frequency wall. It's a frequency wall, NOT a multiplier wall.

My CPU for instance won't do over 4930 mhz without enabling PLL overvoltage. Got to 4925 mhz... +1 higher on BCLK and "overclock failed."

Still, no one knows exactly WHAT PLL overvoltage even does internally. It's absolutely NOT a voltage. (Take a DMM to the PLL IC and measure it...you'll find that overvoltage has ZERO effect on the PLL voltage). PLL voltage and PLL Overvoltage has literally nothing to do with each other..

PLL overvoltage is something INTERNAL to the CPU (which is why it won't work on D1 steppings). This is also exactly why S3 sleep fails with it enabled...CPU can't wake up because it has to repost to reenable the register that controls PLL overvoltage (and waking up from S3 is NOT a "POST" routine).
So does this mean once at the freq wall do we have to enable pll ? or are you saying we can lower bclk and get a high freq then doing say 100 bclk at 48 or what ever my chips freq wall is 4650 roughtly and have to enable pll.. is there a way to boot in higher without pll ??

There ya go!

Still on H2O. Dont want to push it too much. And with 16GB of ram (all slots full) I suppose even booting with 59x multi is quite cool.

So, when are Asrock going to remove that vcore limit? GRR!

Anyway thanks Falkentyne!
Very nice man! Don't give up on OCN yet, you can always post results down the in the hwbot & extreme cooling sections, the people who don't understand extreme overclocking don't post in there very much.

Lol. Some people like to see the max a chip can do, 24/7 stable gets boring, pushing farther can be fun too.

People don't boot over 5500 mhz for stability.
That wasn't my point. I know very well how these chips OC, I don't need a lesson in it. This type of "benchmarking" is comical, to me at least. In layman's terms, it's like taking a 1000 horsepower V8 engine, and running it on only 2 cylinders. Makes no sense in the real world whatsoever.

If you can make it go faster running on 2 cylinders than on 8 & win the race, goal is accomplished.

Well, if the "race" is SuperPI only, then so be it. This type of OC has no use IRL. Heck, even LN2 OC'ing is more practical than a single core OC.

I CAN use 2 cores with 59x95. But it is very unstable and just makes 124.
1) I need more voltage
2) 5.7 with 4c/8t works "stable". Temps are stopping me.
3) Can you run at 59x?
4) Have you had the guts to push 1.7V?
5) Why run 100M at 9 flat when you COULD do it in 5?
6) I'm sure your Fiat punto OC works forever, Im also sure 50hp is alot of fun compared to 500 that blows up after 10 secs.

Oh, and I COULD run it 24/7 at 5.2. There is no reason tho. NOTHING has any use of it.
And when asrock realeases an update, woho! Anyone with a 59 chip would push it.
Bottomline. I will enjoy its poor death, while you cant.
Lots of personal ego in post is intended.
