Need P67 Motherboard Suggestion

Hi OC Expert

I try to decide motherboard for my new pc.

I saw those 2 are cheapest P67 MB in newegg.

ECS P67H2-A3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128487

GIGABYTE GA-P67A-D3-B3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-279-_-Product

Gigabbyte is a better brand and the review shows both are ok.

I have i7-2600K cpu and want to OC it to 4.5G to 4.7G. Will those work for me or there is better choice?

Also, Will I definitely need a new cpu fan or the manufacturer fan will work too?

Thanks

As much as motherboards don't affect OC as much as they used to, I don't see the point of buying the most expensive chip for it to be paired with cheapest mobo you could find...

Yes, the stock CPU fan will work too but you can forget about any kind of overclocking while on it.

Do you actually need the hyper-threading from 2600k? What's your budget and what are you going to use the PC for?

Hi I got the CPU from a friend working intel. so i figure i can put a system for it since my old pc is not functioning.

I just need the basic function to OC it and i am not sure if all P67 MO can do the job. Can you recommend one for me?

I would want something with better power delivery if I was overclocking... Such as the GB P67A-UD3P or UD4.

I would also want a cheap but reasonable air cooler for those clocks... Such as a CM Hyper 212+ or Scythe Mugen 2.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there MB under 130 would work for me? I check that price for the GB P67A-UD3P MB and it is over my budget.

+1, Also look at the Biostar TP67XE if Gigabyte is too expensive for you.

I have the Gigabyte GA-P67A-D3-B3 that you are refering to and, as you can see, I've gotten to 4.5 easily with my chip. I don't forsee any issues with obtaining a clock higher than mine, unless you have a lead chip (opposite of golden )

Personally, I'd stay away from ECS!

same here. this d3 b3 might be cheap. but it doesnt feel cheap. 4.5 was as easy as putting on a pair of socks, this board gives me 116 gflops @ 4.5. great board at an even greater price.

thanks GMcDougal and rsfkevski!

I am glad to hear from someone actually owns the gigabyte motherboard. I don't have enough money for the nice $200 motherboard and the CPU is kinda free from a friend. All i was worried is the two motherboards i mentioned are not going to overclock as well as what i think.
