i thought because the 5770 was so power hungry i needed at least a 650watt PSU for CFX

despite bad reviews of that psu, I have one running in my parents rig and it is rock solid for 2 years now. No problems.

wow, that is totally against what i was told, lol, even with all my stuff put in properly it only comes to like 487Watts

Just picked up a new PSU and it booted right up perfectly just running a CHKDSK to double check the HDD for errors from the other PSU blowing up, so far so good but i forgot how long it takes to run this on an almost full 1TB drive.

the PSU i got was a Thermaltake Black Widow 850W is this a good PSU, i kinda got it because i was looking at the PSUs in Best Buy and my mom noticed and just kinda picked up the biggest one there, and well that was it, i was only looking at the 600Wat Thermaltake PSU but i ended up with this one, lol
