Good monitor/size suggestions?

Looking for a good monitor.

I am currently using my 32" HDTV.
I hate it. It hurts my eye. Too close to it.

So what is a good size and monitor?

I will not be doing photos or anything so a IPS panel is not nessacary if it saves on cost.

HDMI input is a must. I only use HDMI cables. I wouldn't mind 1080P. I know I have 768MB 460s , but I do plan on eventually getting an updated card. Might be 2gb whatever or 3gb.

I don't mind turning down the resolution on a 1920x1080 native. I do it on my tv now. AlsoI plan on getting more and more into PC gaming. So suggest away. Also budget would be around $200. $300 if its a sweet deal or something that is HIGHLY recommended.

I also went down from a 32" monitor to 24", which I use now. It's very good for the eyes, not a lot of straining and doesn't hurt your eyes from being too big.

Here's a monitor that's very good and is at 24"

It's probably the best at that size, I've had LG's at the same size as well but they take time to setup in terms of colors. With this one, right out of the box the colors are very good.
