Of course you cannot forget the most important upgrade, the skilllance. Add me in game if you want

I might not be diamond, but, I've actually played all 9 Matchups on ladder and in customs as well as against masters players from OCN and have watched a TON of games above all that, so, I've used colossi and I know their limit. I'm also not in Diamond because I haven't had the time to grind games to move up, one game a day/week isn't enough to get a promotion wink.gif Either way, I'll be in diamond and eventually masters if life permits me to play more games to improve.
Example:
One Z I played tech switched to mutas, like 30 in a couple of minutes because he had a ton of resources saved up. Had I overcommitted to colossi and a-moved them like u mentioned, I would've lost that match. Instead, I opted to tech switch myself to phenoixes since I had 2 stargates earlier and chronoboosted some out while wrapping in a couple of stalkers just as he engaged my 2nd exp.
Point is, going colossi doesn't guarantee a victory at all because they can't attack air, so, you'll have to have a healthy mix of AA otherwise they go down pretty fast. I've played plenty of games where as Z, I'll go corruptors and target each colossi with all of them. Result? Those 3 colossi were wiped within 5-7 sec barely causing any damage to my ground forces. Likewise, with vikings you can snipe them from afar and retreat back to the safety of your army. Does this mean that they are easy to deal with? No, but, they aren't as OP as you make them seem.

blink stalkers??? they can snipe vikings/corruptors from so far away. The skillossi being so mobile can easily move in any direction away from the vikings while the blink stalkers under kill them. if you try and bring your army to cover your vikings you will get forcefielded or slaughtered by zealots. The synergy of a protoss death ball is what makes colossi op.

Also, recently I've seen a large amount of phoenix play in tvp. Phoenix > vikings. 2 phoenixes will delay the killing of the 5 skillossi by a few seconds which is enough to melt 50 marauders. GG.

btw, siege tanks are not effective against protoss.

I was the same until I learned to get out of my comfort zone and tried something different.

Seriously, try it. Mimic what the AI would do. After that, I could keep any AI at a standstill regardless of the difficulty, obviously after several tries. Personally this was a problem as I would never win... XD But at least I wouldn't lose. biggrin.gif

You aren't taking into account the low dps of stalkers(9.72 dps). Did I mention that corruptors have base armor of 2 reducing the dps to 7.72 and with a total hp of 200, you need about 26 hits to take out a corruptor with a stalker. Now consider that even if you have a large number of stalkers and target fire, you won't be able to take out all the corruptors before they take out the colossi. Vikings are worse off but I believe it was due to their much longer range so you can try to snipe. I ask you this question: have you ever played a ZvsP? I played this much a LOT and have faced the deathball before and in some cases even won using mutas. In one cases, I used about 10 corruptors, saw my opponent was getting 2 carriers, so, I was able to snipe one carrier then wrapped around and took out the others. I only lost one corruptor compared to him losing 2 carriers.

Also, recently I've seen a large amount of phoenix play in tvp. Phoenix > vikings. 2 phoenixes will delay the killing of the 5 skillossi by a few seconds which is enough to melt 50 marauders. GG.
The issue is, you left your opponent to mass 5 colossi. As a T/Z, you need to harass the P to make sure that they don't get up to that deathball and even then, if they go mass colossi, they are likely to have less stalkers as a result, not taking into account the stalker's dps. Also, you aren't going to keep your marauders stationary, I would hope you stim and do some kiting when you engage the P army smile.gif

btw, siege tanks are not effective against protoss.

I disagree, they are effective but to a point. Once chargelots/colossi are out, they are less effective. That doesn't consider VRs or phenoixes lifting them up. As to the example above, you wouldn't have tanks on their own. You would likely have some MMM to absorb some damage while the tank deal their own thumb.gif

Try Zerg out. If you can get decent with spreading creep and injecting larvae(2 things you have to do every 30 seconds or so throughout the entire game once you get a queen) you can be decent with any race.

You'll have no choice but to go to your base, even in the middle of a battle and you'll quickly learn how to multitask. They're great at learning when you should be making workers, and when you should be making units and attack timings that aren't 4 gates which won't teach you ****.

I find a lot of people say they feel like they don't have enough to do between tasks, especially in the early game with Terran and Protoss. After you learn the mechanics, you can choose whichever race you like best.

In the lower leagues, just stick to your game plan and eventually you will improve and start winning consistently. Zerg almost require a fast expand, and I find newer players are scared to try it since you are left vulnerable so you get anxious about it.

It's a game you will most likely get pissed off at when you lose, especially when you lose to something cheesy, but eventually you will learn how to beat that most of the time. I'm sure there are plenty of us that have been playing since the beta that still rage every few games.

No game I have ever played gives the sort of rush you get in 1 on 1(other then BW) like Starcraft. Pretty satisfying when you start learning, though intimidating.
