[Gather] Sony PSN Down: Back Online May 31 or Longer

May 9th Update: The Sony PlayStation Network down crisis is receiving a prolonged outage based on the recent website attack, according to a spokesperson. The PSN, still not online, has a target of May 31.

At this point, another delay is not much of a shocker to the PS3, SOE, and Qriocity members from the PSN hacked incident. In psychology, it's called "learned helplessness," or being conditioned in getting one's rear kicked.

Wow, people were getting blasted for saying 2-4 more weeks after the initial delays. Looks like they were right...

I actually thought it was back up already because not as many sites were really talking about it anymore, but I guess they are all just tired of reporting it. lol

Hm... I think they lost a fair amount of players on their PSN because of this. People buy games and should be able to play online and the fact that it's going to take another 3 weeks to possibly have it fixed is just terrible.

By then everyone is either going to be on Xbox Live by getting a Xbox or building a gaming rig for some online gaming.

Anyone having problems with Netflix now? It was working fine the other day even without being able to log into PSN while it's been down this whole time.

PSN and SOE will be down for approx 45 days, and so far 103 million accounts have been hacked. I do not see how they can ever recover from this as a company. A lot of people I know that have not played their PS3 much lately, have already started to sell it on craigslist or have already sold it to a game store. They are just going to wait for the next generation to come out, or buy a new $199 Xbox 360.
