Excessive driver crashes on GTX 295, need help

Thread Starter
So i took up playing crysis 1 again, but i havent been able to enjoy it exactly due to the excessive crashing i've got going on. I have tried multiple drivers from different time eras and driver families (specifically i've tried the most recent 270.61, the 266.58, the 197.45, the 195.62, the 191.07, and the 185.85). The game is crashing bone-stock Vanilla, so i dont think any of the mods i use are affecting it.

I am only using one of my 295's right now (i gave my other one to the girlfriend). I dont seem to crash when i disable the multi-gpu option in the control panel. Most games like call of duty and crysis wont crash if i only run 1 gpu, but the second i turn them both on, practically all of my games will cause the driver to crash. So there i need the solution.

System specs in sig.

So would the good posters of overlcock care to lend me any advice?

When you say crash, what do you mean? BSOD? Just crash to desktop?

Also, have you talked to EVGA? It could be that one of the GPU's, or something in the card is defective. I'd RMA it, or at least talk to their tech support.

No i havent talked to EVGA because this problem didnt used to happen. By crash, i mean the drivers crash. Thats why i listed all the one's i've tried. I can get about 5-10 minutes of gameplay in with Crysis, or Black Ops and the screen goes black. I have to control-alt-delete out and when i can see my desktop again, i see the triangular arrow down in the corner alerting me the video driver has crashed 'and recovered'.

I probably wont be able to help you, but I am curious

Did u try to use each card separate ? maby one of the has gone bad
is Direct X up to date ?
did you OC the cards ?
how is the heat ?
did u try playing with mobo drivers ?
do you have any video codec packs installed ?
tho I highly doubhgt it but maybe PSU is unable to power both cards to peak power anymore ? try running furmark or something similar to check if its stable.

"I am only using one of my 295's right now" [/quote.]

These cards are directx 10 cards, and that's what i'm running.
The cards came from EVGA as far overclocked as they are able to go, and EVGA precision controls the fan speed to keep heat down, never had a problem there.
I have not messed with mobo drivers yet, no.
No video codecs installed that i'm aware of.
Right now my 850w corsair only powering one (1) of these 295's, i doubt power is an issue.
