Just buy the card and block separately.

This card is good for people that like to buy pre-built systems.

I think its worth it, 3GB of vram and a sick waterblock, and a half decent warranty if the waterblock breaks down.
I love Corsair

It's also pretty good for people who don't want to void a warranty on a $500+ card by putting a $150 water block on it, so the extra $120 would be worth it to them.

I didn't know EVGA voided warranties if you replace the stock cooler. Must be a new "feature".

They don't.

Your warranty is still covered if you use aftermarket BUT, if that cooler results in an issue then it may not be covered.

For example: If the "chips" or components used are larger then ref. thus making the card non ref. and a standard water block is used, like an EK...If there were a problem, say sparking out, I don't believe they'd 100% cover that issue because they offer a model w/the block already installed.

To my knowledge, as long as the card appears stock when it's turned in for RMA and has NO physical damage, they don't care.

I remember EVGA turning down SirJamesD's EVGA classified mobo because the ATX pin sparked and fried. They denied the RMA due to damage to the board that was actually caused by their own design flaw. Shortly after they release the "Clean Power" extra molex power to be plugged into a spare PCIe lane ...

That's interesting considering I can go on EVGA's website and pick out 6-10 people's whom were RMA'd and replaced at the request of EVGA's techs...It required an email and a PM if I'm not mistaken.

Perhaps SirJames didn't PM Jacob when he asked? Dunno.

But, they do cover all warranties and "most" physical damage as long as the product is registered and the end user provides an invoice.

So... I bought one of the 1.5 GB 2 days before the 3GB was released. It's a FTW HC2 and I was planning on getting a second to SLI them for a three monitor setup in the near future (6 months max). Did I just get screwed?

Also, as a regular customer (and first time builder) what sold me on the FTW HC2 was the preinstalled WB and the warranty.

You didn't really get screwed since this one is still more money and isn't factory OCed. If you are going with multiple monitors the extra 1.5GB would help.

Could you step-up the card?
