The point is, Nintendo at least try to innovate.

Guitar Hero is a fine example of killing a franchise.

I never played GH2 but i heard it's good. I played GH3, and mfw is that game hard. GH3 is not my idea of party game. Heck me and my buddies played the hell out of that game. Hell ppl had GH3 tournaments. That's how unparty friendly that game is.

Then they added to all that party-mode stuff and dumbing down the difficulty ALOT. Expert on GH4 was easy-mode. It was on par with Medium difficulty on GH3. In fact the only hard part of GH4 was like the last 2 tracks

Glad i didn't buy that POS. Played thru it in one sitting at my friend's house. So while Activision was churning out the turd, the "hardcore" GH fans were still playing GH3.

Eventually ppl moved on, and just like that GH died...

I don't like CoD all that much, though I do think that it is a decent shooter. However, I think if they add an optional (it would have to be) subscription plan for dedicated servers on the consoles, then they are geniuses. Black Ops sold almost 23 million copies on the consoles. There is absolutely no way that they can offer dedicated servers for free to that many people, it would kill a lot of profit. But by charging, say, $5 a month, they could provide dedicated servers to those who want them. This would fix most of the issues with the games on the console.

I think that if done right, this can actually be a very good thing. However, Activision is Activision, so I'm not holding my breath for something smart/reasonable, but the potential is there.
Let's see here.. I go on my Xbox, fire up CoD, and after seeing the server list and throwing my xbox out the window, I have a stroke.

HELL NO. That's the reason I have a console, so I won't have PC players buying admin rights and then kicking me from games.

In fact, they should get rid of dedicated servers altogether. I'm waiting for the day when I won't have to choose from a retarded server list and have to follow idiotic admin rules (Which I don't).

God bless Blizzard, IW and other developers that ditched the server system. At least on those games, I don't have a half-assed list of rules, a console telling me what to do every five seconds, and an admin that kicks me because I accidentally his KDR
If you're a fanboy and if you're having a heart attack as you read this, just don't bother replying. Don't quote me and ask if I'm trolling, because I'm not, and don't post useless stuff like "umad" or a rage picture, because that just proves my point. Just calm down and accept it. Or, if you're going to rage, at least use proper grammar.

Actually, I might buy a Black ops server soon, and show everyone how the system can be abused. I will set up ridiculous rules and I will kick anyone who uses a weapon I don't like and anyone who has a better score than I do.

Does this sound fair? I don't think so.

I hope dedicated servers never get close to a console.

Why would Activision try to innovate when they are profiting off the current CoD? That would cost more money and time. Like I said before, do you really think Activision (or any company) cares? They just want to make a profit, and if pushing out another CoD every year with minimal changes makes them large profits, they will continue until it dies down. And it won't die down any time soon.

And just like how Kotick treats his customers, the shareholders will treat him when signs of weakness starts showing in the books.

Dedis, and P2P both have their uses.

Insteading of having one or the other, the option for both would be great :/

Heh, you're doing the same thing people did to us PS3 owners who put CFW on just to have Linux again.

I'm a gamer. Most of the CEOs have probably only picked up a game when they were going for a job with their respective company.

Gamers tend to play games, and if I were a CEO of a games company, I'd want my experience to be as good as possible when I play it whereas the CEOs who don't game bar seeing how the games going along wouldn't give a stuff, that's the main difference and reason we get milked games, it's not always about money, or we'd see Team Fortress 42 by now (And none of the free DLC), or Half Life 8 Episode 20...Or Portal 6, or heck, Skyrim would use the same engine as Oblivion and there wouldn't have been any modding tools for it from the start.

Exactly, GH3 was epic, GH:WT was easy and had issues, the GH:WT "expansions" fixed the problems it had IMO (Harder songs in both Smash Hits and Metallica, as well as fixed issues) and GH5 had nothing on WT.

Warriors of Rock was getting back to GH3 territory (IMO) but they did it far too late, Warriors of Rock should have been GH5.

Then why am I yet to see a single person say they preferred BO over MW2 or even MW1? There's two things that'll keep CoD afloat, innovation and lack of good competitors.

BF3s going to change one, and Kotick is handling the other so well you'd think he's not paying it any attention at all, mark my words, if CoD monetizes the MP any more, they'll loose a decent chunk of sales once there's decent competitors.
