That's retail sales. Bad company 2 on pc outsold the consoles which gave dice the go ahead and extra motivation to make pc the lead platform for bf3.

none of the online retail statistics ever reflect digital sales for which Steam will not release. Will it help or hurt to release them so PC sales are a lot bigger than it looks?

How does DICE know PC sold more?

Stop buying CoD games people You're just encouraging that little kook to trying find new ways to suck money out of your wallet.

You lost me. Mass appeal means just that, it appeals to the mass of people. BF3 isn't a specialty product, they want to sell as many copies as possible. As far as sacrificing values and integrity, that's life, but we are talking about a video game. If this is something you're worried about, them sacrificing, your best bet is to wait for peer reviews of the game before buying.

But that's besides the point, I was simply referring to the common small minded mentality on display in the thread, not the game being discussed.

As long as the quality remains the same or improves, I am fine with whatever Activision wants...
Wait, how can any of this even sound like a good idea?

Activision - "Oh hey CoD fans, we're going to find ways to charge you more money!"
CoD Fans - "OH MAN, I'M SO PREORDERING RIGHT NOW."

The fact black ops sold more doesn't mean anything. Activision are well known to spend unbelievable amounts on marketing. Marketing does not instantly equal a good game, in black ops case its just generic i - if you can't tell between a Quality game compared to a crap game, go back to playing Pong or something.

End of the day, sales don't show how good a game is. So no, COD doesn't kick the crap out of everyone else. They do have an effective marketing department, and for a company that spent more money on marketing than the actual development budget (was the case with MW2) i wouldn't be suprized..

LOL Y U MAD THO?

Anyways, I love how every OCNer loves to go against popular opinion...just to go against popular opinion. COD was better...I have BF:BC2 for the PC (EA Download Manager), but I absolutely despise it. I have COD on the 360 (all from COD 4 on) and it's by far the greatest game I've ever played.
