So my computer has bee acting up i was going to just do a clean install of windows but i don't think that would fix it.
i started getting this:

and after i start the computer it just give me the above and when i reboot (ctrl+alt+del) it starts up fine. i think it might be the WD VelociRaptor since the first boot it and go into the bios it will show my other drive but not the WD

Select the WD as the first boot device in the BIOS and you should be fine. Chances are you have a USB drive in and that is being selected as the first boot device.

nope. no other USB drives are plugged in only the usb mouse and keyboard. in the bios the WD is selected as primary but when it first starts up it does not show up but the second time around after the reboot it shows up fine.

Try another Sata cable.

Changed out sata cable but did you try different sata ports? They too can go bad or just get fussy.

i have changed the sata cable and ports but the same thing keeps happening. i have 4 drives connected 3 hard drives and 1 disk drive. i had the os drive on port 1 and storage drives on ports 2,3 and disk drive on port 4.
i switched them around and the same thing happened. it does not recognize the drive on the first boot and gives me the message above(OP) once i hit reboot either ctrl+alt+del or the button on the case it will pick it up and start up fine.

at this point im thinking its the driveill be reinstalling windows today or tomorrow but i dont think that will do anything since it is bios that is not recognizing the drive when it boots.
Thanks
