What to try next to stabilise at 3.8ghz?

Thread Starter
I'm running my 550BE at 3.8Ghz, and tbh, it seems stable enough in everyday use so far. But intel burntest failed it twice. Once after 3 minutes, and last night after 30 minutes. My vcore at stock is 1.35v and I have it one notch up 0.025v, it's showing at 1.376v in cpu-z. Should I just increase my vcore one more notch and try again or do I need to adjust other voltages? If I can figure out how to stabilise it, I'd then like to try for 4Ghz. In bios, I have these voltages to tinker with, but don't know which ones or by how many notches:

CPU Voltage Control
NB Voltage Control
SB/HT Voltage Control
NB PCIE Voltage Control
CPU NB VID Control
DRAM Voltage Control
DDR VTT Voltage Control

Looks like a good chip

Raise it up to 1.5 for 24/7 if necessary.

Thanks The vcore you mean? That's higher than the rated min and max 0.850-1.425V on amd's products spec. I take it though from your recommendation that it's safe?

You can go upto 1.5V, jsut make sure your tempature's don't go past 55 is possible and if it hits 60C, stop testing and reduce your volt's

Ah ok. Just to let you know, there's always been a problem with the readouts of my core temps. Example, TMPIN 1 is my cpu temp which I assume is accurate. But my core temps always read much lower, but I tend to add on about 20c to that figure which seems to make sense. Right now for instance, TMPIN 1 is 36c and core temps for Core #0 is 19c, same for Core #2. I estimate each core to be 39c then. Does that sound about right? Are you talking about 'don't go past 55c' on TMPIN 1 or the cores? If the cores, then if it reads 35c, I can assume it's about 55c. Hope that's not too confusing. Btw, the cpu is rated to 70c, so isn't 60c quite a bit lower than maximum?

Sorry, my mistake, yeah 70C must be your max temp then lol, i didn't search your CPU up...

And yes, read the TMPIN 1 temp, the core temps are very inaccurate, but like me, I don't give a slamming damm about my temps haha, I'm wiating for my 1055T to die, I had enough of it already.... just one of my excuses to get a 1090T haha

Lol, well, you don't want to be stranded with a dead pc before you have another chip to put in it. Go ahead and buy it, you know you want to

Which one out of my three NB named voltage controls though and by how much? Looking at an old screenshot of mine,
NB Voltage Control is on default at 1.100v
NB PCIE Voltage Control is on default at 1.800v
CPU NB VID Control, just says 'normal, so default but I don't know how much until I look in bios.
