I dunno how tight cash is, but the six cores are brutal on vrms/mosfets. If you pick up that ten pack of copper sinks w/ adhesive thermal tape you might want to grab an antec spot cool too. The cooler you have in your sig (like most) isn't dumping air on the board like a stock cooler. The spot cool could be oriented to dump air to get flow on NB and mosfets. The NB is going to get hot when you get fsb up past 225.

that board you have is only 4+1, not good for 4 Ghz overclock at all, unless you want to smell burnt VRMs.

VRM's only explode when not properly cooled.

sounds great. i got a pretty good aftermarket cooler now and i got an old heatsink laying around i can cut up. also already have fans blowing over it right now. gonna do some work and will report back soon.

thanks everyone!

Wait for Bulldozer to comes out (AM3b, AMD's next gen motherboard/CPU)
The 990FX motherboard will support your motherboard and next-gen Bulldozer CPU's
ASUS/Gigabyte are generally the best/safest to go for. Every 3/4 people with AM3 have either an ASUS or Gigabyte mobo
