ASUS/Gigabyte are generally the best/safest to go for. Every 3/4 people with AM3 have either an ASUS or Gigabyte mobo
yep...what he said!

Even though it's only a 4+1 uATX board, Gigabyte gave it some special sauce or something. I used to bench and stress mine at 4.1GHZ with 1.525v with no mosfet heatsinks (though I later added some). The capacitors would squeal and hiss when I would crank the volts up and run linx or prime95. I miss that board and that Phenom II 955, but my buddy at work bought it from me for a good enough amount. Pushing a hexacore that far on that board is a real stretch though, but might be possible if you have a very tight power supply and some excellent cooling.

The neat thing is to be able to do it with hardware thats not supposed to be able to....when you look at your board with homemade heatsinks all over it and think "damn...this looks like one of those high dollar rigs the big boys run"theres alot of self satisfaction in that..anybody can just turn up multiplier and auto overclock!....step up to the challenge!...lol...how ya doin?

I am the room mate =], We put it at 3.3 last night with a 1.344vcore, temps were good and is Intel Burn Test stable there, It seems to need a lot of NB voltage, but I think part of the problem is poor (unknown) ram. I think we might leave it here folding until we can get some heat sinks and some descent ram (I am scared to give it voltage because I do not know what it is rated at, although I fear it may be under volted atm)
