[SOLVED] Need quick assistance - 60/80mm fan.

Thread Starter
Hey guys need some suggestions for a couple 60/80mm fan, mainly bang for buck but open to suggestions. Im in the process of modding my gpu and require some 'good' 60mm fans.

Thanks

EDIT: This is the best one I have found so far.

Xilence 60mm x 12mm SlimLine Case Fan Silent 22dBA
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Xilence-60mm-x...item5d2b229a9a

Specs apparently are:

Size: 60 x 60 x 12mm
DC Fan: 12VFan (3PIN i think)
speed: 2,500 RPM ± 10%
Air volume: 29,8, CFM
Bearing: sleeve bearing
Noise level: 22 dB

By the way, they will be controlled by a fan controller.

Any chance you can use 80mm x15mm? I have two of these bolted to my 5870 and they work great. If you're stuck on using 60's, at least try to get a delta or nidec, something that's not sleeve-bearing.

thanks for the response, your proberbly right. I might look into getting a 80mm fan. +rep

EDIT: the cheapest 80mm x 15mm seems to be the Xilence 80mm HERE. seems pretty good aswell.

Size: 80 x 80 x 15mm
DC Fan: 12VFan
speed: 2,600 RPM ± 10%
Air volume: 30,0 CFM
Bearing: hydro bearing
Noise level: 26 dB

Thoughts?

Is there a thickness limitation? I see that you are choosing 12mm thickness for the 60mm fan and 15mm thickness for the 80mm fan.

If there is no such restriction, I suggest you choose a thicker fan. Generally speaking, the thicker the fan, the more CFM and (more importantly) the higher static pressure (which is useful to penetrate through the fins of a heatsink).

To this end, I suggest YateLoon D80SH-12 for your purpose. Its spec:-
Dimensions: 80x80x25mm
Nominal voltage: 12V
Nominal speed: 2600rpm
Airflow: 32CFM
Noise level: 30 dB(A)
Power consumption: 2.16W
With 3Pin Molex plug, 60cm cable and rpm signal

It sells at £3.62.

Definitely +rep for the info and link, however is there much difference between the D80SH-12 and the Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80mm?

The specs of the Zalman indicates that it is actually pretty good and slightly more superior that the yate and for £7.50 shipped sounds even better.

Zalman ZM-F1

•Voltage - 12v Normal / 7v Noiseless Mode
•Current - 0.25A Normal / 0.12A Noiseless Mode
•Airflow (CFM) - 36.5 Normal / 20.6 Noiseless Mode
•Speed (RPM) - 3000 Normal Mode / 1700 Noiseless Mode
•Noise (dB) - 34.2 Normal Mode / 20 Noiseless Mode

Should I get the Zalman instead? it's cheaper and can be delivered before friday.
