What is the correct EK kit for the Corsair 650D?

Hey, this is my first post to OC.net forums. Working on a parts list for my first watercooled setup. I'm buying the parts and someone else is doing the labor. Looking to get the Corsair 650 case, but because of the planned hardware I'm thinking I'll need two RADs.

Using all EK parts, here's what I'm looking at for watercooling:

EK-KIT H3O - Supreme HF 240 Kit
http://www.ekwaterblocks.com/shop/ki...me-hf-240.html
Picked this one because from what I'm reading the 650D can only support two fans up top.

EK-CoolStream RAD XTC (140)
http://www.ekwaterblocks.com/shop/ek...d-xtc-140.html
This one would go in the front.

Should this hardware work for the case? Are there other parts and pieces I'm forgetting? Will I need extra tubing?

Any help is much appreciated!

Hey there,

You are going to have clearance issues with the coolstream radiator that comes with that EK kit because it's not really a slim radiator. It will really depend on the motherboard but you will most likely have issues due to the RAM slots or even the 3/4 pin power cable up top.

I currently have a Swiftech MCR220 mounted at the top and it JUST fits and only allows for a single fan configuration (have mine as push).

Unless you HAVE to get the EK kit, I'd suggest the XSPC RS240 kit if you want to mount a 240mm radiator up top.

You can mount that 140mm rad if you want, but I'd suggest the Phobya 200mm radiator if your budget allows.

As far as extra hardware or requirements, the kit should come with everything you need. Be sure you get some kill coil or PT nuke. Also, I'd advise against using the included dye in the EK kit and just use distilled water and get a UV tubing if you want that stuff.

Hey, thanks for your response. Which XSPC kit were you referring too? This one?

Do you think this would fit in the Corsair 650 case? Planning on using the ASUS Maximus IV motherboard and dominator RAM.

Yes that radiator will fit. I currently have MCR220 on mine which has essentially similar dimensions. I also have the dominator RAMs but I have ASUS P8P67 PRO but I doubt the physicality of the boards would differ that much. So yeah, you should be ok with that kit.

Having a tough time finding that Phobya 200mm rad. Is there another decent one that's more available?

Here's a different question: If I upgraded to the Corsair 800D case, would I have been fine with the original EK kit (EK-KIT H3O - Supreme HF 240 Kit)?

Yes that Phobya 200mm radiator has been popular probably because of this case. If you were to get 800D, you would be fine with that kit. 800D is full out water cooling capable case while 650D has limited watercooling capability.
