geforce 9800 GT on ASRock P43de will not boot

Thread Starter
anyone had some luck to get a Geforce 9800 Gt graphic card running with this board. As soon as I plug card in computer tries to boot a couple times and will not show anything on display. I I leave 2nd pci card in that works on its own it doesn't show anything either.
Only setting in bios that I found was primary GPU PCI or PCI express.
Any ideas? Tested the card on different system and it appears to work.

How were you previously getting video with that mobo ?

What is your PSU? If it wont show anything on display, the psu may not have enough power for the 9800GT.

Try a low power videocard on the same pci-e slot. If it works then you need a better PSU

had an old ati pci graphic card which is not supported under windows 7 so it worked but dual monitors were not supported so I got this one from a friend.
I believe I have a 450W PSU in that pc.
It tries to boot, restarts after 2-3 seconds and does it 2-3 times than pc appears that is starting up all fans run, graphic card fan runs as well. took it to work today and plugged in a differend pc and card works fine on a 300W PSU. Office pc has a different cpu and board.
when i was playing around on the CPU overclocking in my bios it did the same thing with the startup when I went to high on CPU speed and it regulated it down to lowest setting after 3 reboots so I could enter bios. This was done on my old PCI graphic card. So I thought I need to change some setting in my BIOS.
Guess it will not help to install drivers for the GT9800 under windows with my old card, shut down and swap out cards,or should I try?

Plug in the 9800GT and set bios to display first PCI-E.
If that doesnt work try display first PCI. It could be that the bios got accustomed to the old display first PCI setting.

My current motherboard is like that. Im using PCI-E graphics card but had to set PCI in bios because it wont boot when I set PCI-E.

Or it could also be the pci-express slot is dirty and prevents good contact with the 9800GT.

tried both with no result, took an older pcie card nvedia 8500 or so which worked, so slot is fine, cards are fine and working just no startup. now it constantly tried to reboot with no display on either monitor, took pci card out and back in, as soon as the 9800 is in it will not boot.

PCIE is set to 100mhz in bios, other than this i don't see anything else that i could change that would make sense for the graphic card.
