Getting Surround out of two 2.1 speakers

Hey,

Here's the setup I've got.

1. Altec Lansing VS2621 2.1 Speakers
2. A crude 2.1 speaker made by connecting a pair of surround speakers to a old amp and a sub-woofer (So I ended up getting another 2.1)
3. Soundcard which lets me play from both these speakers at the same time.

I was wondering whether it's possible to configure my setup so that I could get surround out of the second 2.1 system.

Please let me know if more specs are required.

Thanks!

Please fill out your computer specs in your User Control Panel.

Until then, what soundcard do you have?
It may be possible to do by setting one set to the Front output, another to the rear output, then setting the speakers to quadphonic mode in the windows control panel sound devices menu.

Hi

Its not the speakers but the amp or soundcard that do it. You need to enable dolby digital. Dolby simulates 5.1 on stereo

So one set to the front output, another to rear and turn on dolby?
