They sound nice.

They sound like a 50-100 dollar pair of cans.

But they retail for 300 dollars.

That's it in a nutshell OP.

If you want to look cool in beats, go get them. It's your money.

Has anyone here actually tried the Pro models? There is a world of difference between the Studios and the Pros in terms of build quality and sound quality.

If you want to conform and live up to a shallow image-only 'keeping up with the Joneses' lifestyle, then go for it. As I've written, looks aren't even that good vs. other headphones which both looks and sound better and cheaper.

I laugh the living life out of myself every time I see their headphones anywhere when I get home. Sure they look nice but after listening to some at Best Buy, I found out they sounded horrible. Plus, the shell's basically weak, bendable plastic. If they wanted a strong plastic, at least try acrylic or polycarbonate with an anti-abrasion coating.

Even though beats suck it shudnt deter you from Monster Turbine Pros/Coppers i currently use those and think they are sick. The bass is deep, but its not overpowering to the point where your head hurts. The noise canceling is pretty effective with super tips, i commute in Boston (downtown) and I dont hear anything on my commute to work. I dont hear the train at all, but the subway i hear slight stops but not when the bass is going on the headphones .

I have but only at the store, they are not that good.. what is bestbuys return policy on those? I can do a comparison between the beats and my other headphones. I have a feeling that the beats might be better than my samson sr850, maybe. Maybe I would do a comparo..

I don't have much experience with $100+ set of headphones but unless they offer something SIGNIFICANTLY better than my JVC HA-RX700's then they aren't worth it, got my RX700's for $35 and I haven't regretted it ever.

Worth a try. If your local store does it the same as mine, it should be 30 days with no restocking fee, but I would ask first to make sure. The demo music they play is horrible music most of the time...i cringe every time I walk past our display because I hear them blasting overdone bass from the black eyed peas. As soon as I took mine home, I discovered the overdriven bass of the display was more a result of the song rather than the headphones, because when I got home, set my equalizer to preference, and tried acouple of bass heavy songs(few rhcp songs, miss you by the stones, push comes to shove by van halen, malignant narcissism by rush, etc) it was much more subtle and balanced with the rest of the range, and more punchy when it needed to be punchy, rather than deep and pounding over the rest of the song making it hard to gear anything else like in the demo music.

Again, I didn't and wouldn't pay the retail price for them, but if someone offered them to me for 250-300 bucks I'd take them no problem, I've enjoyed my pair.
