AMD 4400+ mobo or cpu problem

Okay so my friend had this motherboard and cpu for a while. Now I had ddr2 ram for it laying around that i know works because I checked on the old comp. The psu took from an old comp that still works, a gpu 7600 that still works. Now the motherboard lights up and everything. But when turned on nothing happens, nothing on the screen all fans turned on. Not sure if its cpu or mobo problem. The cpu does still get hot idk if that helps of anyway.

A. Do you have the ram in the proper slots? Some motherboards won't boot if your ram is in the incorrect slots(forsay if you are running single channel and you have the one stick of ram in slot 2 or 3 instead of 1, or if you have two sticks of ram and you have them in the improper slots, well you get the idea)

& also if you are running on 2 sticks of ram, try booting with one stick if it doesnt boot try the other one, just to rule out the potential that a ram stick has gone bad.

B. Is the Video card seated properly? Recheck to see if its seated in the PCI-E slot properly.

C. Double check all connections =]

D. Boot the motherboard outside of the PC Case to eliminate the potential problems of the motherboard shorting against the PC Case(& check to see if all correct motherboard stand offs are installed)

Thats all I have to suggest for now, on a last note, Static Electricity is very unfriendly to electronic boards, there is the slightest chance that upon touching the MB or components you could've shorted something with the static from your hands. (although its highly unlikely if you ground yourself properly, there is that one chance)

yea thanks for all the info, unfortuantly ive tried booting with one stick of ram on each slot, I have reseated everything gpu, all the connections, and ive always been using the anti stack strap thing everytime i install or reseat computer parts . I might have to go to microcenter and get a board to see if the cpu is still good. Thats the only thing I know a way to check if cpu is okay to get another mobo, but since this thing is so old all my friends moved on to i5,i7 or still have core 2 duo, no one likes amd !!!!
