my kinda budget amd build.... - Page 3

OP clearly stated and I quote " I don't want Intel" yet people still feel the need to push Intel. Not to mention that he has already purchased the items in the first post.

As far as the OP is concerned. Not really a bad build. 16GB of ram is kind of overkill. But if you are happy with it, then it is serving its purpose.

And why not push for a better product? Like I said earlier, are you purposely going to get an inferior product at the same price point? It's like refusing an free upgrade for no reason.

It's idiotic to completely block out half the market because of some random prejudice against Intel.

Right now, there's absolutely no reason at all to build an AMD PC, because even stock Sandy Bridge CPUs destroy heavily overclocked Phenom IIs at the same price point in everything.

crunstructive critism, comments, suggestions, are all welcome.

I had a budget of $1,000 and here is what i created for my first real build.

NZXT Black phantom case

MSI 890FXA-GD65 mother boardAM3+

Radeon HD 5770 graphic card

16GB 8GB DDR3 cas 8 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series DDR3

AMD Phenom X2 6 core 1090 Black Edition CPUAMD Bulldozer

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W 650TX 650 watt

Still lacking HDD and OS.

Thinking about sticking this old HDD with vista in it until MS releases the next OS instead of jumping on Windows 7 this late in the game.

Soon plans include cutting a window in the panel

and

Future plans will be water cooling setup, Sheething all my cords, and UV light system

what u guys think, pretty stout build for $850?
Fixed

Wait till mid June if you want an AMD build and want power out of the cpu.

Also I would go with a little more powerful gpu. a 5770 is great but is becoming dated.

apparently OP bought them already...

and 16 gigs of ram is uh.....yea, for a good price....why not?
Well if you got it for $30 more than 8 gigs, sounds reasonable as long as you utilize it every so often.

I'd go with Windows 7. But, if all you have is Vista, what the heck.
