In fact because its older I should be able to get more fps, at least thats how logic works. I don't get lower fps in 3D Mark 2006 simply because its 5 years old, do I?
Not even remotely close to a point. With a lot of players on screen WoW is very taxing on the CPU as Cilraaz said, you can't expect a game that barely uses two cores to compare with games that take full advantage of multiple cores.

lol no you don't... What are you talking about? I get higher fps by quite a large margin in 06 than 11.

You do understand that each new cpu gen builds on the previous?

My i5 has the same instruction set as your i7, expect some that yours doesn't.

I've never heard of what you speak of.

No one is THAT thick. That was also funny, picking out one sentence from my post to focus on and ignoring the actual facts. You got us good, Balla.
I'm pretty sure I addressed all your points.

You're right though, its clear a core 2 duo at 2.3GHz would obtain nearly the same fps as I was getting, you know, diminishing returns on hardware performance... because it works that way.

lol I don't believe cpus suffer from diminishing returns, I'm fully aware of what it means.

You're arguing against yourself, which is funny because you seem so sure of yourself.

If a gets b and c gets e and e is greater than b than c is greater than a.

I took a SB cpu at 3.6Ghz and got around 40 fps, then overclocked the cpu to 5.3GHz and get 57 fps. Can you point me to the diminishing returns on that overclock?

When IB comes out and is 20% faster clock for clock, and runs a bit higher overclocks and goes over 60 fps will you still hold onto your false beliefs?

btw for the people who keep insisting WoW using a lot of Internet/Bandwidth/Data transfer, i played WoW on my laptop tethered by my cellphone.

After 2 hours of playtime, i believe i had 10 mb downloaded and 2 mb uploaded, not even sure if that was completely WoW usage either.

So yeah, WoW doesn't use that much internet/bandwidth/etc.

If I went to ICC my fps dropped down to about 120.

@ Cilrazz-

The DX11 Beta was out several months before Cataclysm.
That's still 5 years after AQ40. Your system with a 555BE and GTX460 was not more powerful than an i5 750 @ 3.8GHz and Radeon 5770, yet you're claiming somewhere between 2 and 5 times the performance. If you're going to lie, try making it believable.

There is no reason why that game should render that poorly. Nothings wrong with your system or anyone else's for that matter. From what I've read/seen (Never played). The back end of WoW is poorly coded. If you lag around people that most likely means you render those people client side. Poor poor practice for a game as big as that. Your not cool because you can max out WoW on a 980x with 4 GTX 580's. All that means is you fell into a money sucking trap and you lie to yourself everyday to justify the cash you put into it.
