This would make me conclude the game itself is the issue, server lag, HDD dips in seek times, etc.
I play LoTRO and have it installed on my SSD and it smooths out the game play. When I spin my toon there's no lag but on a HDD there is. The SSD doesn't not give me more FPS per se but the lag is gone except for server lags. So it may assist my minimum FPS a little but that's about it.
I don't feel that online games area good judge of system performance. Run a single player campaign game if you want to prove anything about CPU bottlenecks. The simple fact that data has to be transmitted over the internet to update people's positions in game and effects can change your performance.
Are you seeing the same information I'm providing?
Because we're coming to two very different conclusions based on the supposed same screens.
I see 90%+ usage on two threads which indicates a nearly maxed out cpu. I see a cpu overclock increasing FPS. I see lower gpu usage, of which overclocking the gpus only decreases usage, while it does not increase fps.
Can you explain what you see so I can better understand where you're coming from on this?
