Up-coming build

Thread Starter
So I created a build here last summer, revised it, and ended up purchasing. 8-months later a close family friend bought the build from me for the price that I had purchased it for. No he was not ripped off, because I've given this family friend an immense out of PC support for about 4 years and running.

Anyways, here's the build I previously had:

I am going to be moving from Ohio to Kentucky for college this coming Fall and building computers has always been my one and only true hobby, and I really want to go all out this year. I will make a build by the end of the summer for sure and would like some input on my purchase. My price is $15,000 and I want to go all out on the computer.

I know some people would say that is ludicrous, but I don't believe its any different than someone spending money on a good car. I am on a computer like 80% of every day (its my work, its my hobby, its my free time) and I also sleep eat and bike/run.

Anyways, I've been working so hard at school that I've never given myself anything that I've wanted. Computers to me are like cars to most people.

I have never actually stepped into water cooling, but I am going to this time.

Here's what I plan so far:

Case: Case Labs TH10
CPU: Intel 990x
GPU: Quad-SLI EVGA GTX-580 FTW Hydro Copper 2
Audio: X-Fi Titanium
PSU: Silverstone 1500w
Keyboard: Razer Lycosa
Mouse: Razer Naga Molten
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaw series (48gb)
Motherboard: EVGA SR-2

Need suggestions on monitors, SSDs, and ESPECIALLY water cooling!!!

I'm sure I will get lots of comments such as why would I spend so much, I don't need that much, etc.

Why are you going with that horrible keyboard?
Do you absolutely need macro keys btw?

the 990x is a 6-core cpu whilst the 2600k is a quad core cpu, same 32nm architecture, the 990x has 12mb cache and the 2600k has 8mb.

I believe the 990x is faster, is it not?

*EDIT* The 2600k is also a 1155 cpu while they 990x is 1136, which is what the SR-2 motherboard is.

As far as the mouse, I love macro keys. I suppose they're not necessary, but I always find uses for them in games. Specifically as much team fortress 2, it's nice to take some of the key-pressing away from my wsad hand and put it on a few thumb clicks.

I love the keyboard, I had it on my last build. Do you suggest something different?

Seems pretty awesome. I will definitely stay tuned for this one, but I don't think it will take you $15,000 to accomplish your goal.

Lycosa is one of the worst gaming keyboards out there. Read the reviews for a start.
I was going to suggest you to go with a mechanical keyboard.

IF you don't need macro keys, you can go with some awesome keyboards from Filco, Leopold, or Das.

You can also go with the Razer Blackwidow too. They're not too bad at all except for not having the nkro feature. But, this isn't a problem if you don't play some of the rhythm games that requires you to press 6 or more keys at once.

If you don't wanna go with a mechanical keyboard, go with a Logitech G510 or something similar. I heard that Saitek Cyborg series isn't half bad either.

If you've the money, I'd consider 3x U2711H's in Nvidia Surround!

I suppose if I go mechanical i would go with the Black Widow (after looking at the next quote's link) but I will have to look into that a little more to see what exactly I prefer.
