weird boot up problem

Thread Starter 
I am currently running at 4.6 Ghz, the only error i get right now is rounding 0.5 expected 0.4 in prime95, i don't know how to fix this problem
other than that everything else works fine, but the thing that bugs me is when i press the power button, it starts up with fans spinning, then they stop for like 2 second. After that, it boots normally to the window screen. can anyone tell me why it has to boot twice and how to fix my error? is it my ram?

The latest bios update for your board was supposed to have cured the double boot problem. Try raising your vcore a touch thats how i rid of the prime errors.

really?? i was running at 1.365V for just 4.6GHz i thought thats alot already.... i even tried to run at 4.7 with .050V offset, still doesnt work, maybe i got a slightly crappier chip haha alright i will see, seems like my ram is doing ok b/c i just ran at 3.8GHz without geting the problem.

Sometimes going from 4.5 to 4.8 ghz needs alot more voltage, My chip works fine @ 1.375- 1380v @ 4.5ghz but needs 1.42-1.44v for 4.8 ghz.

It just depends on your chip mine will do 5ghz but needs a whopping 1.55v just to boot to windows. I would try 1.380v and work down from there

thanks i also changed my VTT to 1.2V because i kept on getting x124 BSOD code, is that ok?

Yes it could be that but i think vcore more likely

BSOD codes for overclocking
0x101 = increase vcore
0x124 = increase/decrease QPI/VTT first, if not increase/decrease vcore... H67/P67 increase/decrease Vcore first then qpi/vtt second.
on i7 45nm, usually means too little VVT/QPI for the speed of Uncore
on i7 32nm SB, usually means too little vCore
0x0A = unstable RAM/IMC, increase QPI first, if that doesn't work increase vcore
0x1E = increase vcore
0x3B = increase vcore
0x3D = increase vcore
0xD1 = QPI/VTT, increase/decrease as necessary, can also be unstable Ram, raise Ram voltage
0x9C = QPI/VTT most likely, but increasing vcore has helped in some instances
0x50 = RAM timings/Frequency or uncore multi unstable, increase RAM voltage or adjust QPI/VTT, or lower uncore if you're higher than 2x
0x109 = Not enough or too Much memory voltage
0x116 = Low IOH (NB) voltage, GPU issue (most common when running multi-GPU/overclocking GPU)
0x7E = Corrupted OS file, possibly from overclocking. Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r

oh yea i got both x09C and x0124, so i decided to add VTT but is 1.2 enough?

VTT or VCCIO voltage on sandybrige should be locked at around 1.08v maximum according to intel. no matter how high the overclock is. This is the voltage for your cpu's memory controller and unless overclocking your ram i find no need to touch it. mine is @ 1.1v and realy would not go any higher. It certainly did not effect my overclock. Have you increased your vcore voltage ??
