Basic HD texture mod for Morrowind?

Thread Starter
Is there one, simple to to install, HD texture mod to use that works for Morrowind and all DLC together?

I just got Morrowind and before I play I want to get a basic, easy to install HD texture mod. I've looked for about an hour and am completely lost in the mod community. The Morrowind mod community is massive and you can change everything it seems! :-)

I noticed Morrowind2011 but read it changes the feel of the actual game a little. I'm looking for a basic HD texture mod and that's it. I don't really care for "packages" that change everything like lights, items, houses, face mods, clothing, tweaks etc etc. I just want a pretty view as I walk around and play the game as close to vanilla as possible.

And if I have to download 5 or 6 different mods I'm not gonna bother.

Thanks!

Hey. Wow!
rep+ but I think that mod would destroy my setup... And the installation video is over 12 mins long with over 50 steps. The mod looks amazing but not what I'd call "simple".

Also, I don't have a gaming desktop at the moment so I'll be using the laptop I'm selling which has an i3, 5650 1GB, and currently has 8GB Ram.

I think if I were to use this morrowind overhaul i'd have to spend days just trying to read the text files to figure out how to get it to look good but also be playable on my setup.

Thanks, really, but that's way to much trouble right now.

Can anyone else suggest a one time download texture mod to update the graphics a little without killing my machine or taking days to tweak?

I'm another huge fan of Morrowind biggrin.gif. Here's another one you might want to take a look at.

Morrowind Visual Pack 3.0: http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/file/Morrowind_Visual_Pack_Combined;56241

I'll look around for more for you.

Some more popular ones:

- ATAP Andys texture alternatives pack: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9754
- Landscape Remix: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=286
- Better Trees: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10448
- Better Bodies: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3880

Have you used all of these? Like I said, I don't care about bodies or people as much as I do scenery and texture. I just want a mod (maybe two) to freshen up the look of the environment (without having to do the full morrowind overhaul).

What would you suggest to a first time morrowind player out of the first 3?

Visual Pack 3.0
ATAP Andys texture alternatives pack
Landscape Remix

EDIT:
Right now I'm leaning towards the Visual Pack 3.0 only because it's a larger download... What do you think?

Yes I have, but out of the 3 I would try out ATAP, it's slightly more performance friendly compared to the visual pack/overhaul.

I got everything up and running and found the app to fix the resolution too.

Pretty cool so far :-) Glad I found this game - I've been wanting to try it for a while.
